Apocleinae
Apocleinae is a historical name for a proposed subfamily of robber flies, the predatory true flies in the family Asilidae. The name was proposed in 1973, but later classification work found the group to be polyphyletic rather than a single natural lineage. It is therefore no longer generally recognized as a valid subfamily, and most genera once placed here are treated within Asilinae. The name remains useful when reading older taxonomic literature.
Incertae sedis
Incertae sedis is a taxonomic term used to indicate that a taxon's placement within a higher classification is uncertain or unresolved. It does not represent a biological group but rather a placeholder status pending further research. The term applies to taxa whose relationships to other groups remain unclear due to insufficient morphological, molecular, or fossil evidence.
Larridae
Larridae is an accepted family of insects in the order Hymenoptera. GBIF places the family in Arthropoda, Hexapoda, and Insecta, with Hymenoptera as its immediate parent rank. The family belongs to the apoid-wasp portion of Hymenoptera, a group whose classification has changed as molecular studies revised older broad family concepts. No widely used common name is established here, and the family’s biology is best described through verified information about its included taxa.
