Bothriocyrtum

Bothriocyrtum is a genus of mygalomorph spiders in the family Halonoproctidae, established by Eugène Simon in 1891. The genus comprises three recognized species native to North America and Taiwan. These spiders are commonly known as trap-door spiders, constructing burrows with hinged silk-lidded doors. The genus was separated from Cyrtocarenum based on distinct morphological features including eye arrangement and width of separation between certain structures.

Coptotermes
Coptotermes is a genus of subterranean termites in the family Rhinotermitidae, containing approximately 71 described species. The genus is thought to have originated in Southeast Asia and includes some of the world's most economically destructive termite pests, notably Coptotermes formosanus (Formosan subterranean termite) and C. gestroi (Asian subterranean termite). A 2013 consensus among 31 termite experts reduced the number of validated species from 69 to 21 based on morphological and molecular evidence, with many historical names suspected to be synonyms. Species in this genus exhibit complex social behaviors including age-based task division and unique nitrogen recycling strategies.

Falsogastrallus
Falsogastrallus is a genus of small anobiid beetles in the family Ptinidae, established by Pic in 1914. The genus contains at least three described species, with F. sauteri documented as a significant pest of books and library materials in Taiwan. Adults are minute (1.5–3.5 mm), reddish brown to dark brown, with dense grayish pubescence. Larvae are C-shaped borers that tunnel through book hardcovers, particularly cardboard edges, and construct frass walls for pupation.

Homidia sauteri
Homidia sauteri is a species of slender springtail in the family Entomobryidae. It is native to East Asia and has been introduced to other regions including Hawaii. The species possesses a characteristic dorsal chaetotaxy pattern that has been formally described from Japanese specimens. Two subspecies are recognized: the nominate H. s. sauteri and H. s. formosana from Taiwan.

Hypocharassus
Hypocharassus is a genus of long-legged flies (Dolichopodidae) comprising five described species distributed across the Nearctic, Oriental, and Palearctic regions. The genus is the sole member of the tribe Hypocharassini within subfamily Hydrophorinae. Species are associated with marine and coastal habitats, with adults flying low over wet sand and larvae inhabiting intertidal zones. The Korean species H. cavitarsus represents the first Palearctic record, expanding the genus's known range.

Lozotaenia
Lozotaenia is a genus of tortricid moths in the tribe Archipini, established by Stephens in 1829. The genus was recently discovered in Taiwan with the description of Lozotaenia xiaofengkouensis Lu & Hsu sp. nov. Most species are found in the Palearctic region, particularly northern Europe. The genus comprises small to medium-sized moths with characteristic tortricid wing patterns and resting posture.

Mecistocephalidae
Mecistocephalidae is a monophyletic family of soil-dwelling centipedes constituting the sole family of the monotypic suborder Placodesmata. With approximately 170 species across 11 genera, it ranks as the third most diverse family in Geophilomorpha. The family exhibits a distinctive trait among geophilomorphs: leg-bearing segment numbers are generally fixed within species and identical between sexes, ranging from 41 to 101 pairs. Most species inhabit tropical and subtropical regions, though some extend into temperate zones. The genus Mecistocephalus dominates the family with roughly 130 species, most possessing 49 leg pairs.

Oodes
Oodes is a genus of ground beetles (Carabidae) in the tribe Oodini. The genus has undergone significant taxonomic revision, with many species formerly classified in Oodes now placed in three new genera: Pseudoodes, Sundaoodes, and Nothoodes. The genus currently comprises seven recognized species, with five in Oodes s.str. and two in the subgenus Lachnocrepis. Oodes species are distributed across the Palaearctic and Oriental regions.

Pugettia is a genus of marine kelp crabs in the family Epialtidae, distributed across the North Pacific from North America to East Asia. Species inhabit shallow subtidal zones, primarily associated with macroalgal habitats including kelp beds, Sargassum stands, and red algal turfs. Many species exhibit ontogenetic habitat shifts, with juveniles and smaller individuals occupying deeper algal turfs while larger adults migrate to shallower macroalgal beds. The genus includes approximately 25 extant species plus one fossil species, with several species serving as important subjects for studies of crab growth, reproduction, and habitat ecology.
