Copelatus chevrolati
Chevrolat's Dytiscid
Copelatus chevrolati is a small diving beetle in the family Dytiscidae, subfamily Copelatinae. Adults measure 5.3–6.7 mm in length and 2.6–3.1 mm in width, with coloration ranging from pale to dark reddish brown. The species is distinguished from other North American Copelatus by having 8 or 9 discal striae on the elytra. Two subspecies are recognized: the eastern C. c. chevrolati and the western C. c. renovatus. The species has been recorded across the southern and central United States and was recently documented from Cuba, representing a significant range extension.

Ochrotrichia is a large genus of microcaddisflies (family Hydroptilidae) comprising approximately 226 extant species, making it the most species-rich microcaddisfly genus in the Neotropics. The genus is predominantly distributed in the Nearctic and Neotropical regions, with one exceptional African record from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Species are primarily found in freshwater stream habitats.

Oligia strigilis, the Marbled Minor, is a noctuid moth distributed across Britain, Europe, and Central Asia, with accidental introduction and rapid spread in northeastern North America. It is one of three similar Oligia species in the UK that require genitalia examination for reliable identification. The species has declined by 76% in Britain since the 1970s despite potential range expansion. Melanic forms occur frequently and have been of significant evolutionary interest.

Oxynopterinae is a subfamily of click beetles (Elateridae) containing Oriental genera that are rarely collected. Members are characterized by large body size and distinctive morphological features including serrate antennae. The subfamily includes genera such as Sternocampsus, Campsosternus, Oxynopterus, and Sinuaria. Species within this group are associated with mountainous forest habitats in Southeast Asia and southern China.

Scaritinae is a large, cosmopolitan subfamily of ground beetles (Carabidae) containing over 2,400 species in more than 140 genera. Members exhibit considerable ecological diversity, with many species adapted to specialized habitats including caves, riverbanks, and deep soil layers. The subfamily includes tribes such as Scaritini, Clivinini, and Salcediini. Several genera show disjunct distributions that have contributed to biogeographic understanding of continental drift and faunal exchange.
Tricholita ferrisi
Tricholita ferrisi is a small noctuid moth described in 2009, known exclusively from two sky island localities in southeastern Arizona. The species occupies high-elevation coniferous forest habitats in the Madrean Sky Islands region. All known specimens were collected by light trap in late July, suggesting a narrow seasonal activity window.
