Hypothenemus atomus
Hypothenemus atomus is a small weevil species in the family Curculionidae, first described by Hopkins in 1915. It belongs to a genus that includes several economically significant bark beetles, most notably the coffee berry borer (Hypothenemus hampei). The species has been recorded in Brazil, specifically in the states of Mato Grosso do Sul, Santa Catarina, and São Paulo. Information regarding its biology, ecology, and economic impact remains limited compared to better-studied congeners.
Icelia triquetra
Icelia triquetra is a species of bristle fly in the family Tachinidae. It belongs to the tribe Iceliini within the subfamily Tachininae. The species was described by Olivier in 1811. It is known from a limited number of observations and records.
Integripalpia
Integripalpia is a suborder of caddisflies (Trichoptera) distinguished by adults having unringed terminal segments on their maxillary palps. Larvae are aquatic and construct portable protective cases from debris beginning in the first instar, enlarging them through subsequent developmental stages. Case construction is often highly specific, with distinctive architectural patterns characteristic of particular families and genera. The suborder includes diverse lineages distributed across aquatic habitats worldwide.
Lauritrioza alacris
Bay Sucker
Lauritrioza alacris is a psyllid in the family Triozidae that induces distinctive galls on bay laurel (Laurus nobilis). Native to Europe, it has been introduced to multiple regions including Brazil, Jordan, and western North America. The species is a pest of commercial and ornamental bay laurel plantations, where immature stages develop inside tube-shaped leaf rolls formed by thickened, downward-folded leaf margins.

Palpada pusilla is a species of syrphid fly in the family Syrphidae, commonly known as the Bicolored Plushback. It is a member of the tribe Eristalini, which includes species whose larvae are known as "rat-tailed maggots" due to their distinctive posterior breathing siphon. The species has been documented across all 27 states of Brazil based on distribution records. Adult flies are pollinators that visit flowers, while larvae develop in organic-rich aquatic environments.

Species in this genus are associated with aquatic and semi-terrestrial habitats, particularly springs and mossy margins.
Petrolisthes armatus
Green Porcelain Crab
Petrolisthes armatus, commonly known as the green porcelain crab, is a small porcellanid crab native to the southwestern Atlantic, particularly Brazil. The species has established invasive populations along the southeastern United States coast, where densities can exceed 30,000 individuals per square meter. Genetic studies confirm it as a single monophyletic species with exceptional geographic range spanning the Atlantic and eastern Pacific. It is frequently parasitized by the bopyrid isopod Aporobopyrus curtatus, which causes parasitic castration.

Polana
Polana is a genus of leafhoppers (Cicadellidae) in the tribe Gyponini, established by DeLong in 1942. The genus includes multiple subgenera (Polana, Nihilana, Polanana, Hobemanella, Bulbusana, Varpulana) with over 34 species described in the nominate subgenus alone. Species occur primarily in the Neotropical region, with documented diversity in Brazil, Costa Rica, and surrounding areas. The group has undergone extensive taxonomic revision, with numerous new combinations proposed to clarify subgeneric placement.
Prepops atripennis
Prepops atripennis is a species of plant bug in the family Miridae. It has been recorded from the United States (Nevada, New York, Texas), Cuba, and Brazil. The species was described by Reuter in 1876. As a member of the genus Prepops, it belongs to a group of mirids commonly known as leaf bugs.
Proba sallei
Proba sallei is a species of plant bug in the family Miridae. It is distributed across the Neotropical region, with records from Mexico through Central America to South America, including Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. The species was originally described by Carl Stål in 1862 under the name Dagbertus sallei. As a member of the large and diverse family Miridae, it belongs to one of the most species-rich families of true bugs, though specific biological details for this particular species remain poorly documented in available literature.
Pseudogaurax
Pseudogaurax is a genus of small flies in the family Chloropidae (frit flies), established by Malloch in 1915. The genus contains approximately 70 described species distributed across all biogeographic regions, with particular diversity in the Neotropics. Larvae are specialized predators and parasitoids of arthropod eggs, with well-documented associations with spider egg sacs, dobsonfly egg masses, mantid oothecae, and—uniquely among Chloropidae—ants. The genus includes the first known ant-parasitizing species in its family, Pseudogaurax paratolmos, discovered in Panama in 2016.
Pseudophanerotoma
A genus of solitary endoparasitoid wasps in the family Braconidae, subfamily Cheloninae. Species are known to parasitize tortricid moths, including agricultural pests. The genus occurs from southern Texas through Mexico and Central America to South America (Brazil, Peru, French Guiana). At least four species have been described: P. huichol (Mexico), P. austini (Guatemala), P. paranaensis (Brazil, French Guiana), and P. thapsina (Texas, French Guiana).
