Meadow Fritillary
Boloria bellona, commonly known as the meadow fritillary, is a North American butterfly in the brushfoot family Nymphalidae. It is distinguished from other fritillaries by its lack of silver spots on the wing underside and its squared-off forewing apex. The species inhabits wet, open grasslands and has been observed using violets (Viola spp.) as host plants for its larvae. It produces one or two broods annually and overwinters in the larval stage.

Melissa blue, Fender's blue
Plebejus icarioides is a species of lycaenid butterfly commonly known as the Melissa blue. The species has been observed colonizing alfalfa in the Great Basin region, representing a notable host range expansion. One subspecies, P. icarioides fenderi (Fender's blue), is federally endangered in the United States and has been the focus of intensive conservation research. The species exhibits ant tending behavior, with caterpillars producing sugar secretions that ants collect in exchange for protection from natural enemies.

Fender's blue
Fender's blue is an endangered subspecies of lycaenid butterfly endemic to the Willamette Valley of Oregon, United States. It was federally listed as endangered in 2000. Population numbers declined to fewer than 1,500 individuals in the 1990s but have recovered to 25,000–30,000 through targeted conservation efforts combining scientific research and habitat management. The butterfly engages in a mutualistic relationship with ants, where larvae produce sugary secretions in exchange for protection from predators.

Tetropium parvulum
Northern Spruce Borer
Tetropium parvulum, the northern spruce borer, is a small cerambycid beetle specialized on spruce hosts. It was elevated from synonymy with T. cinnamopterum based on distinct morphological differences in larvae and adults, and exhibits strict host specificity to Picea compared to the conifer generalist T. cinnamopterum. The species has a one-year life cycle and is an economically important borer of white and Engelmann spruce logs in western Canada.
