Cenopis directana
Chokecherry Leafroller Moth
Cenopis directana, commonly known as the Chokecherry Leafroller Moth, is a tortricid moth species found across eastern and central North America. The species is associated with chokecherry (Prunus virginiana) and related host plants, with larvae that roll or tie leaves for shelter. Adults are active during the warmer months and are attracted to light. The species has been subject to taxonomic revision, previously placed in the genus Sparganothis.
Ceranemota fasciata
Ceranemota fasciata is a moth in the family Drepanidae (hook-tip moths) described by William Barnes and James Halliday McDunnough in 1910. It occurs in western North America from coastal southern Alaska through British Columbia to northern California. The species inhabits coastal rainforests, mixed hardwood forests, and montane riparian areas. Larvae feed on Amelanchier alnifolia and various Prunus species including P. ilicifolia and P. virginiana.
Dichomeris heriguronis
Black-edged Dichomeris, Black-edged Carbatina, Black-edged Dichomeris Moth
A small gelechiid moth with forewings measuring 7.5–8.5 mm. Native to East Asia and the northeastern United States, with established exotic populations in the Netherlands. Larvae feed on Prunus species in Korea.
Eueretagrotis perattentus
Two-spotted Dart, Two-spot Dart
Eueretagrotis perattentus is a noctuid moth distributed across central and southern Canada and the northern United States, with disjunct populations along the Appalachian and Rocky Mountains. Adults are active in early summer with a wingspan of approximately 32 mm. Larvae have been documented feeding on Vaccinium and Prunus pennsylvanica.
Metarranthis hypochraria
Common Metarranthis Moth
A geometrid moth native to eastern North America. Larvae are stick mimics that feed primarily on Prunus species. Adults are active in spring, with one generation per year.
Ursia furtiva
Ursia furtiva is a moth species in the family Notodontidae, first described by André Blanchard in 1971. It is endemic to Texas in the United States. The species is known from very few records, with only one observation documented on iNaturalist. Its larvae feed on specific Prunus species native to the region.
Yponomeuta padella
orchard ermine, cherry ermine
Yponomeuta padella is a small ermine moth native to Europe and parts of Asia, now introduced to North America. Adults are active from July to August and are attracted to light. The species is notable for forming part of a cryptic species complex with Y. malinellus, Y. cagnagella, Y. rorella, and Y. evonymella, requiring genital examination or host plant association for reliable identification. Larvae feed on Prunus and Crataegus species, and the moth has demonstrated invasive potential with documented outbreaks causing significant defoliation in introduced and expanded ranges.
