Achroia
Achroia is a genus of small moths in the snout moth family Pyralidae, belonging to the tribe Galleriini within subfamily Galleriinae. The genus contains one unequivocally recognized species, Achroia grisella (lesser wax moth), with several other named species considered of doubtful validity. These moths are primarily known as pests of honey bee colonies, where larvae consume wax, pollen, and honey. The genus is closely related to Galleria, which contains the greater wax moth.
Alpheias
Alpheias is a genus of snout moths in the family Pyralidae, subfamily Galleriinae. The genus was established by Émile Louis Ragonot in 1891 and contains species found in North America and the Caribbean. Members are small to medium-sized moths with the characteristic snout-like labial palps typical of pyralid moths. The genus is relatively poorly documented compared to many other pyralid genera.
Alpheias oculiferalis
Alpheias oculiferalis is a species of snout moth in the family Pyralidae, first described by Émile Louis Ragonot in 1891. It belongs to the genus Alpheias within the subfamily Galleriinae. The species is endemic to the US state of Texas, with 54 iNaturalist observations supporting its continued presence in the region.
Cacotherapia angulalis
Cacotherapia angulalis is a species of snout moth in the family Pyralidae, first described by William Barnes and James Halliday McDunnough in 1918. It is endemic to California and belongs to a genus of relatively obscure pyralid moths. The specific epithet "angulalis" likely refers to angular features in wing pattern or body shape.
Cacotherapia bilinealis
Cacotherapia bilinealis is a species of snout moth in the family Pyralidae, described from Arizona in 1918. It belongs to the subfamily Galleriinae, which includes many species associated with stored products and plant materials. The species remains poorly known, with only five observations recorded on iNaturalist. Its specific epithet "bilinealis" refers to two lines, likely describing a wing pattern feature.
Cacotherapia flexilinealis
Cacotherapia flexilinealis is a species of snout moth described by Harrison Gray Dyar Jr. in 1905. It belongs to the family Pyralidae, subfamily Galleriinae, and is currently known only from the US state of Texas. The species name refers to the flexuous or wavy wing lines characteristic of this moth.
Cacotherapia nigrocinereella
A species of snout moth described by George Duryea Hulst in 1900. The species is endemic to Texas and is one of few documented members of the genus Cacotherapia. Knowledge of its biology remains limited due to scarcity of records.
Cacotherapia unipuncta
one-spotted snout moth
Cacotherapia unipuncta is a species of snout moth (family Pyralidae, subfamily Galleriinae) described by Harrison Gray Dyar Jr. in 1913. The species is known from limited localities in eastern North America, with records from Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and North Carolina. Like other members of its genus, it belongs to a group of relatively obscure pyralid moths whose biology remains poorly documented.
Galleriini
Galleriini is a tribe of snout moths within the subfamily Galleriinae of the family Pyralidae. The tribe contains approximately eight recognized genera, including the economically significant genus Galleria, whose larvae are known as waxworms. Members of this tribe are primarily associated with stored products, honeycombs, and detritus-based habitats.
Omphalocera munroei
Asimina Webworm Moth, Pawpaw Webworm Moth
A pyralid moth species in the subfamily Galleriinae, known for its specialized association with pawpaw (Asimina) species. Larvae are group-feeding and construct leaf shelters. The species has been studied for its clustered oviposition behavior and gregarious larval development.
