Steniini is a tribe within the -rich Spilomelinae ( Crambidae), erected by Achille Guenée in 1854. Members of this tribe are predominantly detritivorous as larvae. The tribe includes the recently described Micrometasia, to the Japanese archipelago, which has been used as a model for studying insular speciation and biogeographic patterns in oceanic island systems.
