Identification

The is immediately recognizable by its extremely slender, club-shaped —at least 25 times as long as its narrowest width. The combination of short, yellow to black with scape at least as deep as long; widely separated upper and lower katepisternal hair patches; complete postmetacoxal bridge; and absence of posteromedial hair tuft on hind provides additional diagnostic characters. Wing venation with alula much narrower than c at its base and reduced anal angle is also distinctive.
