Tillinae is a of checkered beetles ( Cleridae) comprising approximately 164 described across 11 in the New World. The subfamily is characterized by diagnostic morphological features including procryptosternum to pronotal extension, closed procoxal cavities, and 5-5-5 tarsal formula. Body size ranges from 3 to 40 mm. The genus Cymatodera dominates the subfamily with approximately 134 species, exhibiting its greatest diversity in Mexico.

Tillinae can be distinguished from other Cleridae by the following combination of characters: procryptosternum to pronotal extension; procoxal cavities closed; body form oblong; with 9-11 antennomeres; tarsal formula 5-5-5. Within Tillinae, can be separated using keys based on antennal structure, pronotal and elytral , and body proportions. New World distribution ranging from southern Canada through Central America to central South America, including the West Indies. The Cymatodera shows highest diversity in Mexico, where 100 of 134 recognized occur. Forty-eight new country records have been documented for 35 species across the .
