Taxonomic history

The has undergone extensive revision. Wulp described numerous in Anisia in 1890, but many were subsequently transferred to other genera including Vibrissina, Lixophaga, Eucelatoria, Myiopharus, and others. Two species (A. infima and A. trifilata) remain unplaced within Eryciini.
