Taxonomic Note
The name Bembidion convexulum was established by Hayward in 1897. It should not be confused with Bembidion brownorum, a distinct species described in 2023 from California and named in honor of former Governor Jerry Brown. The latter species is larger (approximately 5 mm) with a distinctive prothorax shape and metallic green-gold sheen, whereas B. convexulum is a separate, earlier-described with different morphological characteristics and a more northerly distribution.
