Plochionus is a of ground beetles in the Carabidae, established by Dejean in 1821. The genus contains approximately 18 described . Members are classified within the Lebiinae and tribe Lebiini. At least one species, P. timidus, has been documented as a of agricultural pest insects in North American wetland and orchard systems.
