Ebaeina
Ebaeina is a subtribe of soft-bodied plant beetles within the family Melyridae (order Coleoptera). Members of this subtribe are characterized by their soft, flexible elytra and generally small to medium body size. The subtribe is primarily distributed in the Holarctic region, with greatest diversity in western North America. Ebaeina beetles are often found in association with flowers and vegetation where they feed on pollen and small arthropods.
Eurypogon
Eurypogon is a genus of soft-bodied plant beetles in the family Artematopodidae. The genus contains approximately 11 described species distributed across the Holarctic region, with species described from North America, Japan, and China. Two Chinese species, E. jaechi and E. heishuiensis, were described in 2013 from mountainous regions of Yunnan Province. The genus is characterized by soft, flexible bodies and is placed phylogenetically within the superfamily Elateroidea in a basal position near Omethidae and Telegeusidae.
Macropogon
Macropogon is a genus of soft-bodied plant beetles in the family Artematopodidae, established by Victor Motschulsky in 1845. The genus contains at least three accepted species, with additional species listed in some sources. Members are classified within the superfamily Elateroidea and are characterized by their soft body structure relative to other beetles.
Mectemycor
Mectemycor is a genus of soft-bodied plant beetles comprising three known species, all endemic to California. The genus was established by Majer in 1995 and is currently classified in the family Mauroniscidae, having been historically placed in Melyridae. All three species—M. linearis, M. sericeus, and M. strangulatus—are restricted to western North America.
Troglopina
Troglopina is a subtribe of soft-bodied plant beetles within the family Melyridae. Members of this group are characterized by adaptations associated with subterranean or cave-dwelling lifestyles, as reflected in their name derived from 'troglodyte.' The subtribe includes genera such as Troglops, which exhibit morphological modifications for life in dark, humid environments. These beetles represent a specialized lineage within the diverse Melyridae family.
Trophimus
Trophimus is a genus of soft-bodied plant beetles in the family Melyridae, order Coleoptera. The genus was established by Horn in 1870. It is currently classified as doubtful (status: DOUBTFUL) in the GBIF taxonomy, indicating taxonomic uncertainty or insufficient documentation. Only one observation is recorded in iNaturalist, suggesting the genus is rarely encountered or poorly documented.
