Mecomycter
Mecomycter is a genus of beetles in the family Mauroniscidae, historically placed in Melyridae. The genus contains three described species found in western North America. Species were described between 1882 and 1997.
Mecomycter majeri
Mecomycter majeri is a species of beetle in the family Mauroniscidae, a small family of soft-bodied plant beetles (Cucujoidea). The species is known from a single iNaturalist observation, indicating it is either rare, poorly sampled, or has a restricted distribution. Members of Mauroniscidae are generally associated with decaying plant material and fungal habitats.
Mectemycor
Mectemycor is a genus of soft-bodied plant beetles comprising three known species, all endemic to California. The genus was established by Majer in 1995 and is currently classified in the family Mauroniscidae, having been historically placed in Melyridae. All three species—M. linearis, M. sericeus, and M. strangulatus—are restricted to western North America.
