Identification

Microcentrum latifrons is distinguished from by geographic range and size. It is recorded from the Big Bend area of Texas and the southeast corner of Arizona, separating it from M. californicum (California west of the Sierras and Arizona), M. louisianum (Louisiana and Mississippi north to Missouri), M. minus (extreme south Texas), and M. retinerve (eastern deciduous forests). It is smaller than M. rhombifolium (Greater Angle-wing, 52-63 mm) and M. retinerve (Lesser Angle-wing, 44-53 mm).
