Sparganothis distincta is a tortricid found across much of eastern and central North America. The is characterized by a wingspan of 22–23 mm. Larvae are known to be leaf tiers of Solidago (goldenrod) species, binding leaves together with silk to feed inside. The moth was originally described by Walsingham in 1884 under the name Oenectra distincta.
