Pelochrista argenteana
(Walsingham, 1895)
Pelochrista argenteana is a tortricid in the Olethreutinae, first described by Walsingham in 1895. The belongs to a large of small moths commonly known as shoot borers or fruitworms. It has been documented in western Canadian provinces including Alberta and Saskatchewan. Like other members of the genus, it is presumed to have larvae that feed internally in plant tissues, though specific associations for this species remain unverified.

Taxonomic history
Originally described as Paedisca argenteana by Walsingham in 1895, later transferred to Pelochrista. The Pelochrista contains over 100 described , many of which are poorly known and difficult to identify without genitalic dissection.
Data limitations
This has only 58 observations on iNaturalist and minimal published biological information. Most records appear to be incidental collections rather than targeted surveys.
