Electrostrymon guzanta is a neotropical in the . The occurs in Central and northern South America, where inhabit forested environments. Like other members of the , it exhibits the characteristic tail-like extensions typical of hairstreaks. The species was originally described by William Chapman Hewitson in 1877 under the genus Thecla.
