Macronoctua is a of noctuid established by Grote in 1874. The genus contains at least one recognized , Macronoctua onusta, commonly known as the Iris borer moth. Formerly included species have been reassigned to other genera, such as Dypterygia. The genus is part of the diverse Noctuinae within the owlet moth Noctuidae.
