Taxonomic history
The was originally described in 1881 by Lord Walsingham, who proposed the alternative name Idiostoma in 1882; this emendation was nomenclaturally unnecessary. Ian Common placed it in Stathmopodinae (Oecophoridae) in 1996. Kazuhiro Sugisima transferred it to Batrachedrinae (Batrachedridae) in 2000, and it was subsequently moved to Epimarptidae.
