Brachymeria hammari

Brachymeria hammari is a small parasitic wasp in the family Chalcididae, first described by Crawford in 1915. The genus Brachymeria comprises approximately 26 species in North America, with members typically measuring 3–6 mm in length. These wasps are primary and secondary parasitoids of lepidopteran larvae and muscoid fly larvae, emerging from host pupae. Some Brachymeria species have been recorded from grasshoppers, though this likely represents parasitism of tachinid or sarcophagid flies that parasitized the grasshoppers.
