Phylloxera picta is a of gall-forming insect in the Phylloxeridae, closely related to aphids. Like other phylloxerans, it induces abnormal plant growths (galls) on trees through chemical secretions that manipulate plant tissue development. The species overwinters as and has a complex involving multiple and both winged and wingless forms.
