Phyllophaga rubiginosa is a of scarab beetle in the Scarabaeidae, first described by LeConte in 1856. It is native to North America and has been recorded from several U.S. states including Colorado, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan, Nebraska, and Texas. Like other members of the Phyllophaga, commonly known as May or June beetles, this species is part of a large and economically significant group of scarabs whose larvae are known as white .
