Taxonomic Note
Bembidion versutum should not be confused with Bembidion brownorum, a distinct described in 2023 from California. The latter species was named in honor of former California Governor Jerry Brown and was rediscovered after 55 years without observations. Bembidion brownorum is notably larger (approximately 5 mm) compared to typical Bembidion species (3–4 mm) and has a distinctive prothorax shape.
