Habitat
Based on distribution records, in this occur in forested in eastern North America. Specific microhabitat preferences are not well documented but likely include leaf litter and soil surface environments typical of ground beetles in this tribe.
Distribution
Recorded from the northeastern United States, specifically Vermont and surrounding regions. The three have somewhat different ranges: G. honestus appears to be the most widespread, while G. unicarum and G. blanchardi have more restricted distributions.
Ecological Role
As ground-dwelling beetles in the Carabidae, in this likely function as in forest floor , contributing to regulation of and nutrient cycling through on small arthropods.
