Eutrombidiinae
Eutrombidiinae is a subfamily of mites in the family Microtrombidiidae, order Trombidiformes. These are prostigmatid mites belonging to the diverse and ecologically important group Parasitengona, which includes many predatory and parasitic species. The subfamily has been documented across multiple continents with over 350 observations recorded. Members are generally small arachnids with the characteristic two-segmented body plan of mites.
Eutrombidium
Eutrombidium is a genus of parasitic mites in the family Microtrombidiidae. Larval stages are ectoparasites primarily of grasshoppers and related orthopterans, with some records from beetles and crickets. The genus has been documented across Australia, Asia (Laos, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Iran, Pakistan), and Europe. Attachment sites on hosts include leg insertions and the prosternum.
Neotrombidium beeri
Neotrombidium beeri is a species of velvet mite in the family Microtrombidiidae. Its larvae have been documented as subelytral parasites of false mealworm beetles in Arkansas. Like other members of Parasitengona, this species exhibits a complex life history involving parasitic larval stages and predatory adults. The species represents part of the poorly understood diversity of terrestrial parasitengone mites in North America.
