Capraiellus
Capraiellus is a genus of small, non-cosmopolitan cockroaches in the family Ectobiidae, restricted to Europe. The genus was established by Harz in 1976 and contains at least two recognized species: C. panzeri (the type species) and C. tamaninii. A third name, C. haeckelii, is considered a nomen dubium. These insects are part of the diverse Ectobiinae subfamily, which includes many temperate-zone cockroach species.
Cariblatta minima
Least Yellow Cockroach
Cariblatta minima, commonly known as the least yellow cockroach, is a small species in the family Ectobiidae. It was described by Hebard in 1916 and is distributed across North America and the Caribbean region. The species is one of the smallest members of its genus, as indicated by its specific epithet. Like other Ectobiidae, it is a free-living cockroach rather than a domestic pest species.
Ectobius lapponicus
Dusky Cockroach
Ectobius lapponicus, commonly known as the dusky cockroach, is a small, non-pest cockroach species native to Europe and northern Asia. It was introduced to North America, with first recorded sightings in 1984 in the northeastern United States and southeastern Canada. The species has a documented life cycle involving specific overwintering stages, including a diapause in the egg and one of the nymphal instars. Unlike many cockroach species associated with human structures, E. lapponicus is primarily an outdoor species.
Parcoblatta americana
Western Wood Cockroach
Parcoblatta americana, the western wood cockroach, is a species native to Mexico and the western United States. The species exhibits significant sexual dimorphism in wing development: males possess fully developed tegmina and wings, while females have greatly reduced tegmina and lack hind wings entirely. Both sexes display considerable color variation, ranging from dark brown or blackish to pale yellowish or reddish tan in males, and from reddish orange to dark brown or black in females. The species has been documented in association with harvester ant nests and pack rat houses.
Pseudophyllodromiinae
Pseudophyllodromiinae is a subfamily of cockroaches within the family Ectobiidae, distributed worldwide. The subfamily contains at least five tribes (Baltini, Neoblattellini, Plectopterini, Pseudophyllodromiini, Supellini) and numerous genera including Allacta, Supella, and Cariblatta. Some species are notable tree climbers in forest habitats.
