Identification

Distinguished from Floridobolus penneri and F. floydi by subtle morphological differences in structure and body proportions, as established in the 2014 description. Taxonomic history

Prior to the 2014 description of F. orini and F. floydi, the Floridobolus contained only F. penneri and was considered the sole member of the Floridobolidae. The genus was subsequently moved to Spirobolidae.
