Dactylotum is a of grasshoppers in the Acrididae, Melanoplinae. The genus contains two : Dactylotum bicolor and Dactylotum corallinum. These grasshoppers are native to North America and are notable for their striking aposematic coloration. Dactylotum bicolor, commonly called the rainbow grasshopper or barber pole grasshopper, is the better-known species and has been documented across the western United States, Canada, and northern Mexico.
