Cirrhophanus pretiosa is a noctuid described by Morrison in 1875. The was treated as a synonym of Cirrhophanus triangulifer for an extended period before Poole reinstated it as a valid species in 1995. It occurs in the south-central and southeastern United States.

Identification

Distinguished from the similar Cirrhophanus triangulifer by genitalic characters; external alone is insufficient for reliable separation. The was historically confused with C. triangulifer due to superficial resemblance.
