Taxonomic History

The Sericaglaea was erected by Franclemont in 1941 to accommodate previously placed in other noctuid genera. The type species is Sericaglaea adulta (Guenée, 1852), originally described under the genus Agrotis.

Species Composition

The comprises two : Sericaglaea adulta (Guenée, 1852), distributed in eastern North America, and Sericaglaea signata (French, 1879), also found in North America. Both species are relatively well-documented on citizen science platforms.
