Pseudorthodes is a of owlet moths in the Noctuidae, established by Morrison in 1874. The genus contains eight described distributed primarily in North America. These belong to the Noctuinae and tribe Eriopygini. The genus includes species such as P. vecors, the type species, and P. irrorata, described by Smith in 1888.

Taxonomic History

The was established by Morrison in 1874. Pseudorthodes vecors (Guenée, 1852) serves as the type and has been known under several junior synonyms including P. imora (Strecker, 1898) and P. calceolaris (Strecker, 1900).

Species Diversity

Eight are currently recognized: P. angustimargo, P. ignescens, P. iole, P. irrorata, P. keela, P. puerilis, P. vecors, and P. virgula. These were described between 1852 and 1910.
