Identification

Distinguished from the structurally similar Hypotrix ferricola by the diffuse series of dark streaks in the subterminal area of the forewings. Forewing ground color cream with black streaking along the ; dark shading intensifies toward the margin, occasionally forming a large black patch. Wingspan 28–32 mm.
