Forewing length 13–15 mm. Distinguishable from similar Lycomorpha by geographic range and ; appear earlier in the season than Lycomorpha pholus, which occurs in late summer. The species has been documented in the western United States, while L. pholus occurs in eastern regions including Missouri.
