Epermenia falcata is a of in the Epermeniidae, a group of small moths commonly known as fringe-tufted moths. The species was described by German entomologist Reinhard Gaedike in 2008 based on specimens from North America. It is known from a single U.S. state, Washington, with only five documented observations in iNaturalist as of the source date. The Epermenia contains approximately 80 species worldwide, most associated with various plants where larvae feed as leaf miners or on seeds.
