Opatrina is a subtribe of darkling beetles ( Tenebrionidae) established by Brullé in 1832. It belongs to the tribe Opatrini within the Blaptinae. The subtribe contains multiple distributed in Southern Africa, including Helibatus (with two known : H. morio and H. banaszkiewiczae) and Planostibes. Members of this subtribe are characterized by morphological features of the metaventrum used in species-level identification.
