Cephenniini is a tribe of minute rove beetles within the Scydmaeninae (Staphylinidae). The tribe was first described by Reitter in 1882 and contains the Cephennodes and Cephennomicrus. These beetles are distributed across the Afrotropical, Oriental, and Australasian regions, with records from Africa, Madagascar, Indian Ocean islands, Southeast Asia, China, Taiwan, Japan, Papua New Guinea, Australia, and Pacific islands. Recent taxonomic work has documented first records in South Africa, Christmas Island, and the Philippines.

Identification

Members of Cephenniini can be distinguished from other Scydmaeninae by the structure of the male genitalia, particularly the endophallic complex. In Cephennomicrus, this includes a long flanked by elongate . The tribe contains small-bodied beetles typical of ant-like stone beetles.
