Myrmoecia lauta is a rove beetle in the Staphylinidae, Aleocharinae. The was described by Casey in 1893. It belongs to the tribe Lomechusini, a group known for myrmecophilous (-associated) associations. Records indicate presence in northeastern North America with some questionable reports from China.
