Cremastocheilus knochii is a of myrmecophilous scarab beetle in the Scarabaeidae. As a member of the Cremastocheilus, commonly known as anteater scarabs, it is expected to exhibit the specialized adaptations characteristic of this group: obligate association with colonies, predatory feeding on ant , and morphological modifications for survival within hostile ant nests. The species is one of approximately 35 recognized Cremastocheilus species in North America north of Mexico.
