Members of this are primarily associated with freshwater . The Notionotus, the most thoroughly documented enochrine group, occurs mainly at margins of forested streams; a minority of inhabit habitats (thin water films on rock surfaces).

Distribution

The occurs in the Neotropical region. The Notionotus has been documented from Venezuela, Brazil (including Amazonas, Roraima, Rondônia, Bahia, and Mato Grosso do Sul), Suriname, Guyana, French Guiana, Peru, and Bolivia.
