Discodon flavomarginatum

Distinguished by the combination of: rounded, angleless thorax with reddish ground color and black transverse band; roughly textured, dark brown elytra with distinct pale yellow margins; and yellow anterior portion of head contrasting with black posterior. The elongate antennal joints and 14 mm size further separate it from congeners.

Body length 14 mm. Head mostly black with yellow front; black portion punctate (dotted with small holes). Antennae black, slender, extending past middle of elytra with elongate joints. Thorax rounded, completely lacking angles including rounded hind angles; reddish with transverse black band. Elytra weakly dilated just before shoulders, roughly textured, dark brown with pale yellow margins. Underside black except thorax.

Known only from southeastern Arizona, United States. Type locality: Huachuca Mountains, Arizona. GBIF records confirm presence in North America.
