Identification
Members of Sasajiscymnus can be distinguished from other scymnine by the following combination of characters: nine antennomeres; prosternal process carinate (keeled); first abdominal ventrite with incomplete postcoxal lines; and with three tarsomeres. Taxonomic history
The was erected in 2004 to accommodate formerly placed in Pseudoscymnus and related scymnine genera. The type species is Sasajiscymnus kurohime. Chinese species have been organized into five species groups: S. sylvaticus group, S. hareja group, S. atypicus group, S. amplus group, and S. kurohime group.
