Patrobinae is a of ground beetles (Carabidae) containing more than 20 and approximately 240 described . The subfamily is divided into two tribes: Lissopogonini (, containing only the genus Lissopogonus) and Patrobini (containing the remaining genera). Molecular phylogenetic studies have been conducted on constituent genera, including Apatrobus in Japan, revealing complex biogeographic patterns.

More Details

Tribal Classification

Patrobinae contains two tribes: Lissopogonini (single Lissopogonus) and Patrobini (remaining genera).

Molecular Phylogenetics

Studies of Apatrobus using COI and 28S rRNA genes indicate divergence events dating to the Pliocene and Pleistocene, with vicariance and among Japanese main islands shaping current distributions.
