Lophoglossus is a of ground beetles in the Carabidae, established by LeConte in 1853. The genus contains seven described distributed in North America. Species were described between 1823 and 1930, indicating long-standing recognition in entomological literature. Members belong to the tribe Pterostichini, a diverse group of often , ground-dwelling predatory beetles.
