Microdipoena guttata is a of minute true in the Mysmenidae, first described by Banks in 1895. It possesses a broad distribution spanning from the United States through Central America to Paraguay. The species has been to several African localities including Ivory Coast, DR Congo, and the Comoros. As a member of the Mysmenidae, it belongs to one of the smallest families of spiders, whose members are typically found in leaf litter, moss, and other humid microhabitats.
