Macratriinae
antlike flower beetles
Macratriinae is a subfamily of antlike flower beetles (family Anthicidae) established by LeConte in 1862. The subfamily contains at least two genera: Macratria Newman, 1838 and Thambospasta Werner, 1974. Species diversity is concentrated in tropical regions, with significant representation in the Papuan Region, Wallacea, and the Americas. Recent taxonomic work has substantially expanded the known species count, with over 30 described species recognized.
Schlingeria
Schlingeria is a genus of stiletto flies (family Therevidae) established by Irwin in 1977. It belongs to the subfamily Phycusinae, a group characterized by specialized morphological features including reduced wing venation and particular arrangements of thoracic bristles. The genus is poorly known, with only two observations recorded on iNaturalist and minimal published biological data available. Schlingeria species are presumably predatory as larvae, as is characteristic of the family Therevidae, though direct observations of life history remain undocumented.
Xestobium affine
Xestobium affine is a small beetle species in the family Ptinidae (formerly Anobiidae), described by John Lawrence LeConte in 1874. It is found in North America, with records from Alaska, British Columbia, and other parts of the continent. The species belongs to a genus that includes several wood-boring beetles, though specific details about its biology and ecology remain poorly documented in the available literature.
