Glowing Click Beetles
Deilelater is a genus of bioluminescent click beetles established in 1975 by Cleide Costa. Most of its seven species were transferred from the genus Pyrophorus. Adults possess lateral luminous spots on the prothorax and a small lamellate abdominal luminous organ. The genus occurs from the southeastern United States through Mexico, Central America, and western South America.
Vesperelater
Vesperelater is a genus of bioluminescent click beetles in the tribe Pyrophorini, established by Costa in 1975. Species were originally split from Pyrophorus and later expanded with new descriptions. The genus occurs in the southwestern United States and Central America. Adults possess lateral luminous spots on the prothorax and a small lamellate abdominal organ.
