Tallula is a of pyralid moths in the Pyralidae, Epipaschiinae. The genus was established by George D. Hulst in 1888 and contains approximately 11 described . These belong to the diverse snout moth family Pyralidae, a large group of small to medium-sized moths characterized by their prominent labial palps that extend forward like a snout.

Taxonomic placement

Tallula is classified within the Epipaschiinae of Pyralidae. The subfamily Epipaschiinae comprises a group of primarily tropical and subtropical , many of which have larvae that feed on decaying plant material or are associated with fungi.

Etymology note

The name 'Tallula' is not to be confused with the place name 'Tallulah' (variously spelled), which appears in geographic locations such as Tallulah, Louisiana and Tallula, Illinois.
