Taxonomic history

Unciella was described by Troubridge in 2008, making it a relatively recently established within Noctuidae. The two included were previously placed in other genera.

Species composition

The comprises two : Unciella flagrantis (Smith, 1893) and Unciella primula (Barnes & McDunnough, 1918). Both species were originally described under different generic combinations.
